Description

The Blockchain 301 course provides a logical and robust progression from the previous year’s curriculum, preparing you for a professional-level understanding of the field.  This 30-credit, year-three course is designed to transition students from practical application to advanced, industry-grade implementation.  The modules are structured to cover the most critical and complex aspects of blockchain technology, including advanced dApp scaling, smart contract security and enterprise-level adoption.  The course aims to develop expert-level competencies required for designing, securing and managing sophisticated blockchain systems in a professional context. The course’s curriculum is defined by its deep technical focus and hands-on, project-based learning.  Students will not only learn to architect highly performant dApps but will also become proficient in the crucial skill of smart contract auditing, which is essential for ensuring the security of deployed solutions.  The course also addresses the real-world challenges of interoperability and enterprise integration, teaching students how to build solutions that can interact across different networks and be adopted by large organizations.  Assessments are project-oriented and require tangible outputs, such as architectural reports, audit logs and functional prototypes, demonstrating a mastery of both technical and theoretical concepts. The Blockchain 301 course culminates in a comprehensive Capstone Project, where students will apply their full suite of skills to design, implement and deploy a complete, end-to-end blockchain solution.  This final module integrates all the concepts from the preceding modules—from smart contract deployment and dApp integration to governance and security.  The capstone provides a vital opportunity to build a portfolio-worthy project and to reflect on the technical, ethical and practical implications of blockchain technology, positioning students as well-rounded experts in the field.
